The goal is to build a low-end gaming setup while trying to keep the cost close to the Php 30,000 budget range. The build guide only includes the System Unit. Remember that this is only a guide and you don’t need to follow it religiously. Please feel free to point out any mistakes and/or suggest what you think can improve the build/s within this price segment.

Intel 30K Gaming PC – Total: Php 30,790

AMD 30K Gaming PC – Total: Php 32,050

Prices are based on PC HUB Online PL (May 31, 2018)

Both builds are capable enough to play popular esports game along with NBA 2K and GTA:V at high to ultra settings at 1080p. They could totally take on current AAA titles such as Far Cry 5 and Destiny 2. Even demanding games such as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Battlefield 1 in medium to high graphics settings.

The difference between the builds is that the Intel build while slightly cheaper, is arguably faster out of the box when it comes to gaming. The Ryzen 3 1300x can be overclocked to potentially outperform the i3-8100 and better in most productivity tasks. The AMD build also offers better upgradeability thanks to the AM4 chipset which will support upcoming Ryzen chips up to the year 2020.You could also reduce at least Php 1,000 off the Intel setup if you chose a lower tier chipset. But replacing a B360 with a H310 would also mean less memory slots. And if in the future you’ll ever need to upgrade the i3-8100, non-K i5 and i7 will provide significant performance gain.

What both builds lack to keep up with heavier and new titles is RAM. 8GB of memory just isn’t cutting it anymore specially on multiplayer titles. It’s a good thing that both B350 and B360 motherboards have room for more memory sticks and you’ll be able to upgrade them as soon as the prices drop.

Decent Gaming PC with a massive room for improvement

I would recommend the Intel setup if you’re not interested on overclocking at all and care only about gaming. Otherwise, I’d go for the AMD setup.
