Game Announcements [June 2018] — Bethesda (E3 Part 3)
Bethesda — Game Announcements
Bethesda got me really excited when they teased Fallout 76 and now we’ll have the details. Again, I can only comment about the games I personally know or at least piqued my interest. So without further ado, let us begin:
Fallout 76 – November 14 2018
Bethesda’s Todd Howard showed the official trailer and revealed the release date of Fallout 76 at Microsoft’s E3 presentation. Todd claims that the Fallout 76 will be four times bigger than Fallout 4. While that sounds impressive, bigger doesn’t necessarily means better. But what is Fallout 76, really? It turns out, it is a Online Survival RPG. I am genuinely interested with the idea but I can see how this can affect other fans. The word online on Online Survival means you can still play solo but you’re going to share the world with other people. I already expect that there will be a lot less RPG element with this game and it is more focused on the survival aspect. I am not saying that this falls under the category of battle royale games but expect murderhobos in every turn.
Rage 2 – Spring 2019
I never really saw Rage as a first-person shooter and thought of it as some kind of Twisted Metal game where you fight with post-apocalyptic vehicles a la Mad Max. With that being said, I’ve never played the original game, but after watching this trailer. Rage looks like a game I would totally enjoy, like I said earlier, it is an FPS that features vehicular combat. The first game was initially released in 2011, and I would like to play it before this game comes out in 2019.
The Elder Scrolls VI & The Elder Scrolls: Blades
A teaser of the next Elder Scrolls game was revealed along with the announcement of a new mobile game The Elder Scrolls: Blades. The sequel to Skyrim is still a mystery and will probably be released for the next generation consoles. My guess is that we’re looking at a year 2020 release for TES:VI.
The Elder Scrolls: Blades is set for release this year and you can pre-register on their website. In this game, you’re playing as an exiled member of an ancient organization, Blades. This game features a PvP, Town Building and a never-ending dungeon crawl modes. While I personally prefer short, casual games in mobile, I will certainly give this one a try.
The classic shooter, Doom will be having its sequel. There aren’t much details in the reveal as Bethesda are planning on showing more of the game in QuakeCon 2018.
Bethesda revealed a teaser for a new Sci-Fi RPG, Starfield. Same with the TES:VI reveal, no details were actually revealed and both will be probably released for next-gen. One thing is pretty much confirmed though, we’re getting Starfield before TES:VI. Todd Howard said in an interview that Starfield is already in a playable state while TES:VI is still in early development. Since I am a fan of Mass Effect, I love that we are getting a new IP for another Sci-Fi RPG.
The Elders Scrolls V: Skyrim – Very Special Edition
I’ll just leave this here.
